Although she’s a famous comedian herself, Tig Notaro has a very special and unique ability: she doesn’t recognize celebrities. Whether they’re a Grammy Award-winning musician, a world-famous chef, or one of the most iconic actors in television, for Tig… well… it’s just not ringing a bell.
If you were around during the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, there’s a good chance you watched Dawson’s Creek. At the very least you probably saw an episode or two because it was on TV and you were too lazy to change the channel. Really not a fan of 90’s teen dramas? Well, how about the binge-worthy sitcom Don’t Trust The B—- In Apartment 23? It’s hard not to recognize him from that, because, well — he plays himself. But if sitcoms aren’t your thing, maybe you remember when he hosted SNL? Or maybe you know him from his more serious role as Matt Bromley in the FX series Pose. And you DEFINITELY saw him in Varsity Blues. Come on, EVERYBODY has seen Varsity Blues! Unless, of course, you’re Tig Notaro.
James Van Der Beek has been a recognizable figure for literally half his life. But even though he’s starred in dramas and comedies, on television and in movies, and his face has become one of the most widely used memes on the internet, Tig still can’t place him. Maybe with enough hints and the help of Alexa she’ll be able to piece it together? Or maybe she just won’t have a clue. After all, Tig Notaro does live under a rock.
