This Epic Standoff Between Two Drivers For A Parking Spot Is The Most Ridiculous Thing Ever

Willpower is an extraordinary thing, and it’s amazing what people are capable of when they really put their minds to it. Things like send a man to the moon, or survive for 127 with your arm stuck between a boulder and a canyon wall, or wait over an hour for a parking space in a very intense standoff in the middle of the street.

These feats of human tenacity aren’t always captured for the world to see, but luckily this time it was.

One twitter user witnessed a classic standoff situation between two drivers both gunning for the same spot. We don’t see how these two got here in the first place, by the time she started chronicling these events the two drivers were already holding their ground, but based on their positions we can assume that the black car pulled forward to parallel park, and then the silver car (that bastard) tried to sneak in behind.

Parking in any big city is a nightmare, and trying to find parking in Los Angeles is like if your nightmares had nightmares. So this, when it starts, is honestly understandable. This is prime street parking here, people. It’s worth fighting for.

But you’d think after a certain amount of time, even the most persevering of people would give up. At some point you just have to say “alright damn take the spot, it’s yours,” but not these two.

Nuh uh.

These two heroes didn’t even budge, not one little tire turn, even though traffic picked up and they began feeling immense pressure from other drivers.

At one point, ANOTHER SPOT ACTUALLY OPENED UP and STILL neither of them moved. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anything as bad as these drivers wanted to park by this exact stretch of curb.

One hour goes by and this still isn’t resolved.

ONE. WHOLE. HOUR.

And then… the most amazing thing happens. THE PERSON IN FRONT OF THE ICONIC PARKING SPOT DRIVES AWAY.

H A L L E L U J A H

THEY CAN BOTH PARK.

You’d think that would be the end, right? You’d think this epic deadlock would finally be over, both cars are parked, everybody wins, nice work, we can all go. EXCEPT IT DOESN’T END THERE.

BECAUSE NEITHER OF THEM GET OUT OF THEIR VEHICLES.

WILL THIS STANDOFF NEVER END? WILL WE NEVER BE FREE?

Finally, FINALLY, after a gruelling hour of intense passive aggression, the driver of the silver car leaves. And to show her appreciation for this insanely over dramatic showdown, she wrote cards for the two parties involved. A fitting end to a ridiculous saga.
