Funny Or Die Was Nominated For Emmys! Plural! Multiple Emmys!

The nominations for the 71st Emmy Awards have been announced and boy do we have some exciting news! Funny Or Die has been nominated for not one, not two, not four, but three Emmys and we are, to put it simply, STOKED AS HELL ABOUT IT. The awards ceremony is still a couple months away and until that day comes there is no official winner, which means that everyone nominated is, at this moment, both not a winner and a winner. Like Schrödinger’s cat! You know? Schrödinger’s cat? How it was both dead and not dead at the same time? Anybody? No? It’s a science thing go check it out.

Anyway.

The point is, until September 22, we’re basically winners. Don’t argue, it’s science. So if you, like, I dunno, want to congratulate us on winning these Emmys until a so-called “real” winner is named that would be totally warranted and deserved and you should definitely congratulate us.

Here’s what we’ve been nominated for!

Billy on the Street

Short Form Variety Series

Funny Or Die’s Billy on the Street with Billy Eichner is a pop culture game show that follows unfiltered and unapologetic comedian Billy Eichner as he hits the streets of New York City to test unsuspecting passersby.

Gay of Thrones

Short Form Variety Series

Hairstylist extraordinaire Jonathan Van Ness recaps new episodes of Game of Thrones using his unique brand of panache, flair, and fabulousness.

I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman

Outstanding Variety Sketch Series

From inciting treason to telling poop jokes, Sarah Silverman has created her fair share of online chatter. With I Love You, America, she’s looking to connect with people who may not agree with her personal opinions through honesty, humor, genuine interest in others, and not taking herself too seriously. While it’s great to connect with like-minded people, Silverman feels it’s crucial, now more than ever, to connect with un-like-minded people.
