Ron Burgundy Records A Podcast While Trapped in An Elevator

Life doesn’t always go the way you plan: one moment you’re preparing for an interview with Jimmy Carter, next thing you know you’re trapped in an elevator with a couple of strangers, your producer Carolina, and a microphone. What do you do? If you’re Ron Burgundy, you keep calm and podcast on.

Sure, the two strangers in the elevator aren’t as big a “get” as Jimmy Carter (yes, definitely THAT Jimmy Carter,) but they’re better than nothing. One is a man named Owen, who immediately admits he’s claustrophobic, and the other is a woman named Lupe, who doesn’t speak much English. Also, there’s the constant threat of the elevator dropping them to their death, so Ron’s got his work cut out for him.

Does Ron lose his cool? Quite the contrary. Instead, his survival instincts kick in, and he breaches the uncomfortable discussion of what to do when they run out of food. Cannibalism isn’t pretty, but if they’re going to get out of this alive, it’s worth looking at every option.

Ron also provides questions that would be fascinating no matter who’s being interviewed, including who you’d want to hang out with in heaven, how they feel about President Jimmy Carter, and who would they eat if they had to?

One thing we can all agree on: it’s good to be prepared. So find out how Ron and producer Carolina cope with their less-than-ideal recording circumstances, and ask yourself if you’d act any different.
