It’s in their DNA. You don’t get to the lucrative position of coaching high school girls’ basketball without a heavy dose of chutzpah, a motor mouth, and seething dangerous ire that is boiling behind your dead eyes.
But it makes sense. Coaches are constantly dealing with athletes, who have larger than life egos. And while football coaches most often seen foaming at the mouth (plus they have headsets and other things they can throw for dramatic effect), the fury of a basketball coach is something that is just so much more INTIMATE. You can hear it on the court. It’s RIGHT THERE.
Coach Von Pidgeon (Chelcie Lynn) knows this all too well. And when Vice Principal Tucker (Renny Cromwell) shows up to help her work through her issues, she finds a way to let her blood boil and achieve some distance and self-awareness at the same time.
It’s what. She. Does. Because CVP knows that, yeah, sure, playing for an angry coach can be challenging.
But it can also be the single greatest test of mental toughness in your little pathetic life. Has she found a winning recipe? Her team hasn’t won a single game, so what do YOU think.
