This Mom Uses Cardboard Cut-Outs To Prevent Toddler Meltdowns
Anyone with children and probably anyone who has at one time been a child can confirm that being a parent is a full-time job, and it doesn’t even come with pay or benefits which is bullshit if you ask me. Trying to reason with toddlers can be like trying to reason with Ebenezer Scrooge — no matter what you say, the chances of it resulting in you getting some time off and them not completely losing their cool is highly unlikely. So how the hell are parents supposed to get anything done with a tiny tyrannical boss on their back (figuratively and literally) all hours of the day? Well, one inventive momma has found a way.
Parents — you’re probably gonna want to take notes.
Fuki Sato, mother of a ridiculously adorable little boy and frontrunner for Parent Of The Year, has done the impossible and figured out a way to be in two places at once — sort of. She and her husband had life-size cardboard cutouts of her made, one where she’s standing and one where she’s kneeling, so that their toddler’s need to be around mom 24/7 was satisfied and they could be in a nearby room actually getting things done.
Basically, they’ve been tricking their son with decoys to keep him chilled out while he plays.
And it friggin’ WORKS.
Look how happy he is!! By god, they’ve done it!!
(Also did I not tell you that he is literally the cutest baby on earth)
Before anyone gets in a tizzy and says something like, “This is neglect!! This child is unattended!!” Relax, they make sure to check on him every 20 minutes or so, and they’re never more than one room away. And as you can see, the cardboard cutout is always out of his reach, so he’s not going to like accidentally knock 2D mommy over and traumatize himself for life.
She’s even blended flawless into the carpet, this is amazing.
So, there you have it. Apparently it is possible do the jobs of two separate people at the same time — you just need some cardboard.
結果、20分くらい気づかれず。これはたまには役立つかも…
