The ‘SharpieGate’ Memes Are The Only Thing Keeping Me Sane This Week

For better or for worse, usually worse let’s be honest, there’s never a dull moment under the Trump administration. In case you’ve missed it, (and I’m assuming the only way you’d miss it is if you, like many people, actively avoid the news these days because 45 is just one gigantic migraine) earlier this week President Trump tweeted out a warning that Hurricane Dorian would hit Alabama — which was totally false.

In fact, the National Weather Service had to actually send a follow up tweet to correct Trump’s claim.

After it was made clear to Trump that he was incorrect in saying that Dorian would hit Alabama, he immediately apologized for spreading misinformation and we all carried on with our lives.

Just kidding, of course he didn’t do that.

The Stable Genius in Chief actually held a press briefing in the oval office so that he could officially, on the record, double-down on his blatantly wrong claim that Dorian would hit Alabama. He did this by showing an official map tracking the hurricane provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration —

that he doctored with a Sharpie.

Because nobody was EVER going to look at that thick poorly drawn black line and think, “That looks suspiciously like Sharpie.”

Yeah — he straight-up used a Sharpie… to extend the predicted path of Hurricane Dorian into Alabama… on an outdated map… instead of just admitting he was wrong.

By the way, Trump actually broke the law by doing this.

So, we’re now on like… what, day five of Trump insisting that he was right and that the rest of the world including maps and meteorologists are wrong? Jesus. This really isn’t funny, he is literally an insane person, and the only thing that IS funny out of all of this, is that people have started making the best “Trump Sharpie” edits to other presidential photos.
