People Are Running Like Horses And I Am Afraid
Back in 2013 a video of a 10-year-old girl running on all fours and leaping over jumps swept the internet and amassed over 2 million views. Some people found it cute, others found it funny, but we all kinda had to agree — it was pretty impressive. Humans are not meant to run on all fours. Like, not even a little bit. So the fact that this kid could gallop like a clydesdale was kinda nuts. And it was acceptable, because she was 10, and kids do weird shit. That’s fine.
What’s not fine though is when it’s a fully grown adult.
Which is, unfortunately, what we have on our hands.
WhyyyyYYYYYYYY
Her name is Ayla Kirstine, she’s from Norway, and now she also lives in my nightmares.
There are a lot of causes for concern in society these days — climate change, detrimental attacks on women’s reproductive rights, pretty much everything the Trump administration is doing — but the absolute last thing I ever thought I’d have to fear is human adults who can run at alarming speeds and clear some pretty tall objects.
AND SHE’S NOT THE ONLY ONE. You don’t have to look far on the internet to find all sorts of instagram and twitter accounts from other women who are capable of this same feat. There’s like, a herd of them.
If anyone needs me I’ll be at my therapist’s office, discussing my new fear of horse girls.
