Jimmy Fallon Bought That Timothée Chalamet Puppet. Yes, THAT Puppet

I think this goes without saying but I’m gonna say it anyway for good measure. Puppets and dolls are the worst. No one actually likes them until they turn like, a hundred years old and suddenly collecting dead-eyed porcelain children is right up everyone’s alley. And because of how deeply unsettling and disturbing we all find dolls and dummies, when a Pennsylvania-based artist created a ventriloquist puppet inspired by actor Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name, Lady Bird) this summer, it went viral. I want to make it clear that I’m not knocking the work of the creator. I could never make anything like this, it’s impressive for sure. That being said, it’s undeniably creepy as all hell.

The doll was put up for sale on eBay for a little over $100,000. Y’know, pocket change. No one bought it, presumably because no one was willing to fork over $100k for a doll and the curse that it definitely comes with. Well, that’s not entirely true. No one bought it — until now.

The proud new owner of the Timothée Chalamet ventriloquist puppet and the evil spirit trapped within its wooden limbs is none other than Jimmy Fallon.

Thanks to his interview with the puppet we were able to learn a little bit more about it, like, for example, it has a very thick French accent. Not what I was expecting, but hey, who am I to tell a probably-haunted doll what it should sound like? And the fun didn’t end there.

Timothée Chalamet JR. (which is what I’m calling it from now on) even did a musical duet with Fred Armisen.
