Billy Crystal And Ben Schwartz Teamed Up For The Ultimate Feel-Good Comedy
Life doesn’t always pan out the way we want it to.
The stand-up comedy career he’s been trying to get off the ground for years is a total bust, he barely has two pennies to rub together, and at 34-years-old with no other options, Scott Rollins (Ben Schwartz) is forced to leave sunny Los Angeles and move back in with parents in Long Island.
Oof.
Being in your mid-thirties and trying to grapple with the pieces of your life that keep toppling over like dominoes is hard enough, and doing that while living in your parents’ guest bedroom is just salt in the wound. By some stroke of luck, though, Scott finds a most unlikely companion in this most unlikely of places. Marty (Billy Crystal) is an eccentric, middle-aged dermatologist who, on the outside, doesn’t seem like a guy who’d have a lot in common with Scott, and although they’ve led different lives, they form a unique bond in the regrets and failures they both carry.
Together, Scott and Marty find the grit to face the music of their own lives, and help each other learn that hitting rock bottom means you can start getting back up again.
Standing Up, Falling Down is available in select theaters now. More information about the film and where you can watch it can be found on the website, right here.
