Elf Turns 16 Today! Celebrate With The Best Movie Gifs

Well, there are holiday displays in every store, ads on every screen filling you with that annual “there’s never enough time to buy gifts and you’re already behind” anxiety, and I’ve already heard “Frosty the Snowman” in public places at least four times. But it’s only November 7th, and there’s a lot of people out there who feel like this is too soon for Christmas!! Too soon, I tell you!! Those people all make some fair points (we haven’t even made it to Thanksgiving yet!) and I’m inclined to agree with them — but today is the one exception.

On November 7th, 2003, an abnormally tall resident of The North Pole travelled down south in order to find his real dad. That’s right, today is the 16th anniversary of Elf. First of all, HOW THE HECK HAS IT ALREADY BEEN 16 YEARS?! And secondly, the holidays just wouldn’t be the holidays without Buddy the elf, so let’s shelve our “bah humbug” energy and embrace the Christmas spirit — even if it’s just for today.
