The Memes About Pokémon’s New UK Inspired World Honestly Have Me In Tears
The next videogames in the Pokémon franchise, titled Sword and Shield, were announced earlier this week and along with them, the newest generation of Pokémon and a whole new world to explore. The new region of Gallar was heavily inspired by the UK and Ireland, and everyone noticed immediately.
Aside from the island itself looking exactly the same, there’s even UK-esque landmarks. If you look closely at the northern part of Gallar you can even see a tiny little Big Ben style clock tower!
Every British and Irish Pokémon fan is clearly psyched about this, and it’s lead to some hilarious responses across social media as people imagine what Pokémon in the UK and Ireland would actually be like.
Disclaimer: For those who aren’t familiar with Scottish twitter, allow me to explain before we go any further.
