Five Hilarious Women Everyone Should Check Out

Happy International Women’s Day!

From television and late night talk show writers, to actors, to stand-ups and everything between, these are some seriously funny women taking the comedy world by storm.

Aparna Nancherla

Queen of deadpan comedy for introverts, Aparna has written for Late Night with Seth Meyers and appeared in a number of comedies like HBO’s Crashing, Inside Amy Schumer, and BoJack Horseman. She’s a Comedy Central Stand-Up regular, was featured on season 2 of Netflix’s The Standups. She packs an insane amount of jokes into an incredibly short amount of time, and if you haven’t seen her stand-up before, you’re missing out.

Jess Dweck

If you’re a fan of sharp political humor, you need to be following Jess on twitter like, yesterday. She’s a Primetime Emmy-nominated writer for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, has been a guest writer for Nick Kroll’s series Big Mouth, and is basically the Jedi master of scalding hot takes on current events. Few others use those 180 characters on twitter better than Jess.

Megan Amram

Another twitter gem and Emmy-nominated writer, Megan is one of the comedic geniuses behind Parks and Rec, The Good Place, and Silicon Valley. She ALSO released her own web-series called An Emmy For Megan on the last day of Emmy eligibility (she even got billboards made for it) and the series was actually nominated. Her twitter feed is as hilarious as you’d expect for a comedy writer of her caliber, and has one of the best long running bits ever, tweeting “today is the day Donald Trump finally became president” every single day. It never gets old.

Taylor Tomlinson

Taylor is a comedian who’s already made an impressive name for herself at a young age and is not someone to sleep on. She’s performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Conan, Netflix’s The Comedy Lineup, and is extremely active in the stand-up scene. As well as frequenting venues like Hollywood Improv, The Comedy Store, and the Laugh Factory, she also runs an extremely entertaining podcast called Self-Helpless.

Patti Harrison

Helping pave the way for comedians in the trans community is the hilarious Patti Harrison. She is a television comedy writer and correspondent on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, as well as appearing on Seriously.TV and Comedy Central shorts. Writing, acting, hosting, stand-up – Patti does it all! And if you’re stuck in traffic, she also has a brilliant podcast titled A Woman’s Smile.
