Song lyrics are like mantras: They help you reconnect with yourself, you find real power within them, and each time you say them, the words seem to come alive and take on a deeper meaning. Mantras like:

“Expect nothing and appreciate everything”

“Be a warrior, not a worrier”

“I am what I am”

“Think from your heart, not from your pussy.”

Ok, so the last one might not be considered your standard mantra.

BUT there is a sense of power that comes from lyrics like this, and Bresha Webb’s new music video “Think From Your Heart” is here to prove it.

This wondrous video takes on the same stylistic elements of Cher, Celine Dion, and all your other favorite divas (with the vocals to prove it) with a message that everyone, especially anyone dealing with shitty dudes and/or their front parlor leading them into questionable dickstractions, can appreciate: Listen to the wisdom that comes from your heart, not from the wily voice whispering from downtown.

Bresha Webb, who recently appeared in Sextuplets alongside Marlon Wayans, and known for her roles in Truth Be Told and Love That Girl!, is the voice of reason we all need here, as she tries to tell all the women (AND men) that if you trust your big dumb downstairs brain too much, you’re gonna keep on making the same mistakes. So cut it out.
